New York’s Hockey Social Club

Hard Pass is proud to be New York City’s first (and only) hockey social club.

Putting the social element first lets us change the sport—and the people who play it. All Hard Pass events are conceptualized, designed, and run to welcome as many newcomers as possible to the sport, and to each other.

Long time Hard Passers will tell you that hockey is just a small slice of what makes HP events so worthwhile, and the growing group of folks joining for everything from a one-night charity event to a travel tournament to the recurring league Prospect Park to our strictly-social NYC meetups will back that up.

Hard Passers believe that hockey is truly for everyone, and we take special steps to ensure we’re building the right environment. See our Mission, Vision, and Values statement below, and check out our Code of Conduct which strictly applies to all Hard Pass functions. We also actively seek out community feedback, ideas, and help to keep us moving smoothly.

If you’re interested in any of this, please don’t hesitate to jump in for one of our many upcoming events! No hockey skill required. If you have any questions at all, please email hardpassnyc@gmail.com any time.

Mission

Hard Pass NYC is committed to building an accessible, diverse, and social hockey community for all adults with an interest in the game.

Vision

We envision a hockey community that is inclusive and welcoming of all hockey players and fans, regardless of skill, experience, or background. We seek to foster relationships both on and off the ice, and to share our love of the game with those who wish to learn. We hope to see groups that have historically been underrepresented in hockey find their hockey home within our community. We aspire to create a space that is a respite from the stress of everyday life, and intend that the relationships built here are meaningful and supportive.

Values

We value diversity and inclusion: all adults are welcome in our community without regard to race, gender, sexuality, age, nationality, ethnicity, hockey background, or hockey skill. We value our differences and believe that everyone has something to offer.

We value community and relationship building, both on and off the ice. The friends you make here are the friends you’ll have for life, who can be there for you through triumphs and turmoil.

We value having fun both on and off the ice. We play this sport to be active, to meet new people, and because we love lacing up our skates.

We value lifting others up, sharing our experience and knowledge with new and aspiring players in a helpful and productive way.

We value supporting our community through fundraising, charitable donations, and sharing our knowledge and time with those who wish to learn the game.
